Everything was okay until we get to the toilet facilities. Clean but very outdated .No disabled toilets or shower. Toilets were very low and hooks for clothes out side of cubicle. Showers again undressing area on one side of the room, showers on the other. No privacy and no security for clothes etc. It is a shame because it is a nice site.

We chose this campsite having read a 5 star testimonial on the website. Unfortunately the experience could not have been different. We had our 8 year old granddaughter with us for two nights stay which was a rather pricey 60.00.We have a small van conversion Motorhome without an awning and we asked if we could put up a pop up gazebo next to the van for shade and was told no we could not.We were given a key to the antiquated toilet block which we either had to go separately or together. This caused problems as the toilets and basins were in different parts of the block to the showers. Neither the toilets or the showers were cleaned during our stay. The showers were open cubicles with a shower curtain with no place to hang towels or clothes this meant you had to come out of the shower across the room naked to a bench at the back of the block to dry and dress. Now I am not a prude but I can imagine some people would like a bit of privacy. There were no toilet facilities on the touring field these were a good walk away in to the chalet area. The advertised clubhouse was not open during our stay at all and apparently was not open the weekend either. This site is not what was advertised and certainly bore no resemblance to the testimonial on the campsite, which I found out later was made in 2008 when it was a family run site and had all the facilities and deserved its five star rating. We shall certainly not be visiting this site again although the area is nice.

One key for loos and separate showers between two guests it needs a good clean and modernising route march to get there. For 28 per night awful toilet facilities

Perfect location on the beach, club house is very well done out, very friendly, allow dogs on but not in the club, the shower blocks are old school with no closed off privacy, didn't bother but it may some people, but nice and clean, toilet little dated but nice and and maintained, the site is immaculately kept, kids play area, would definitely stay again for a weekend. Staff were nice.

The one star is for the beach location. After taking a booking which was confirmed i drove up in the evening only to be rudely told to leave the site there and then by the rudest man I have ever come across. Even though they took my booking that didn't seem to matter to the person who I've since found out later is the owner. I would recommend any of the other camp sites on Mersea. Which by the way is lovely. Steer well clear of Seaview.
