We visit from Norfolk around to Somerset...there are many star places and many supposed...this is our top 5..fab place amazing quality nice people ...our go to place for local seaside fish n chips ...Lemmon and tartar sauce incl well done chaps
Visited last thursday, only one other person there so service was fairly quick considering it's cooked while you wait. That said the cod was small and the chips were quite firm but perfectly edible, expensive though over 7.00 for a portion and the fish was "medium", it was however skinless and boneless so that's a big bonus. I think we are spoilt at home being near the fish docks and market provides our local chippy, nice fresh cod of a good size and chips for around a fiver, bit more for the shop that catches its own fish!
BEWARE of this crowd, fish used to be good and genuine when they took over, now the COD ! is suspicious. Always check your order is correct before you leave, the Cod shrinks to small if you order large, too late when you get home, happened to me twice now. NO MORE. Go elsewhere.
Food ok...male staff/owners very rude to younger female staff.Visited close to closing time, 2 young girls serving were lovely. Helpful and friendly. Males in the cooking area were not.I wouldn't visit again for this reason only.
I used this location last week whilst camping a Waldergraves camp site. Arrived 5 minutes before closing and ordered 67.00 of meals. This was no issue. All food freshly cooked and individually placed in card board boxes which stopped the meals sweating and sticking to paper. Fantastic Haddock! Great value for money. Staff friendly.
